Connecting WhatsApp runs through Meta’s embedded signup dialog. When it fails, the dashboard reports the failure to the Zavu assistant, which opens with a diagnosis. This page is the same knowledge, organised by where the signup gave up, so you can read it without the assistant. Four places can fail, in order. Find the one that matches what you saw.

1. Before Meta’s window opened

You never saw Meta at all.

2. Inside Meta’s window

The window closed or refused before the end. The message names the reason; Meta’s own code is the strongest evidence.

3. Meta finished but handed Zavu nothing

4. Meta finished, Zavu refused

Registration failures

The sender shows as connected but the number does not send or receive. The reason is in the error message.

Route-specific causes

A number bought in Zavu. Meta verifies it by a phone call; choosing SMS never delivers a code. A number still under regulatory review cannot be connected until it is approved. A Brazilian number cannot complete Meta’s registration; use coexistence with a WhatsApp Business App number instead. Coexistence (keeping the WhatsApp Business App). It needs the number registered on WhatsApp Business (not personal WhatsApp), admin access to the Facebook business that owns it, and a supported country: Nigeria and South Africa are not. If the “Connect WhatsApp Business App” option never appears in Meta’s dialog, one of those is missing. If the number’s credit line is still shared with another WhatsApp partner, Meta refuses the switch until you follow Meta’s switch-partner guide.
